About
Blue Eagle has been installing electronic security in New Zealand for long enough to know how the industry usually works. A client describes a problem, a company quotes a system, the system goes in, and the relationship goes quiet until something breaks. It is a model that works well enough for simple sites and badly for everyone else.
It works badly because the expensive part of a security decision is not the hardware. It is deciding twice: buying a platform that caps out when you add a site, discovering the documentation was never anyone's job, or finding that the capability you were sold as future-proofing needs a second install to switch on.
So we changed what we sell. The equipment is how we deliver. The judgment is what a client is actually buying, and judgment has to be demonstrated before it is charged for, which is why the work starts with time on site and a written assessment the client keeps whether or not they choose Blue Eagle.
That is the whole repositioning, and it is not a comfortable one commercially. It means telling clients when they do not need to spend, presenting cheaper options with the trade-offs written down, and occasionally handing over an assessment that helps someone go to market properly. That is the cost of being the advisor in the room rather than the installer at the door, and we think it is worth paying.
We work across manufacturing and industrial, warehousing and distribution, food production, and multi-site commercial operations, from our head office in Porirua and offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston North and Sydney, all open by appointment.
