Different Types of intruder detection systems used

Microwave sensors

Microwave intruder detection sensors use radio waves to detect movement and are commonly used in outdoor perimeter security systems due to their ability to detect through foliage, adverse weather conditions and their immunity to small animal movements, also they are less prone to false alarms caused by environmental factors.

PIR sensors

PIR (Passive Infrared) sensors detect changes in infrared radiation and are widely used in intruder detection systems as they are sensitive to human movement, cost-effective, and have a low rate of false alarms, they are also easy to install and widely available.

Beam sensors

Beam detectors use infrared or laser technology to create a barrier and detect intrusions by sensing a break in the beam, they are commonly used in outdoor perimeter security as they can cover large areas with high accuracy and sensitivity, and can also provide early detection of intrusions by detecting movement at a distance.

Glass break sensors

Glass break sensors are used to detect the sound of breaking glass and are commonly used in intruder detection systems as they provide an early warning of an intrusion through windows or skylights, they are also a cost-effective solution for protecting large areas of glass and have a low rate of false alarms.

Ultrasonic sensors

Ultrasonic sensors are used to detect movement by emitting high-frequency sound waves and measuring the reflection. They are commonly used in intruder detection systems as they can cover large areas, are not affected by environmental factors such as temperature, and have a low rate of false alarms.

Magnetic contact sensors

Magnetic contact sensors are used to detect the opening of doors and windows by sensing a change in the magnetic field, they are commonly used in intruder detection systems as they are cost-effective, easy to install, and provide an early warning of an intrusion, they also have the advantage of being tamper-proof and can provide a secondary level of security.

Vibration Sensors

Vibration sensors are used to detect vibrations caused by an intrusion, such as breaking a window or prying a door open, they are commonly used in intruder detection systems as they can provide an early warning of an intrusion and can be used to protect against forced entry, they are also effective in detecting intrusions in hard to reach areas and can be integrated with other systems for added benefits.

Fog cannons

Combining an intruder detection system with a fog cannon can provide an added layer of security by creating a physical barrier in the form of a dense fog, which can disorient and deter intruders, while also providing a way to conceal the movement of security personnel.
